The city therefore benefits from excellent connections to the regional and national transport network and Frankfurt Airport, as well as a high quality of life. This makes Rödermark an attractive location for businesses. With more than 28,000 residents, the city consists of five districts in total. The Rödermark municipal administration is divided between two locations and around 20 external offices, including educational facilities, the fire service and the youth center.
Peter Psotka is Head of IT at the municipal IT department. His responsibilities include planning, designing and managing the technical area and telecommunications, as well as personnel management. In addition to support, his duties also include the technical maintenance of the website and employee training. The municipal administration is one of Topcart’s first customers and, more than 20 years ago, already entrusted its devices to the manufacturer-independent company. Previously, the municipal administration purchased the devices itself and used toner from another manufacturer, which resulted in higher costs and, above all, unplanned expenses. Added to this was the effort involved in the internal procurement and repair of the devices.
With the consumption-based Managed Print Service package Topcart Comfort, the devices are covered by a full warranty from Topcart. The following services are included: maintenance, technical service, replacement devices and disposal, as well as all spare and wear parts. For the Rödermark municipal administration, this primarily means precise cost planning, as no unplanned expenses arise from new purchases. There are also no additional charges or fixed monthly costs. Consumables are ordered as needed and usually kept in stock. Peter Psotka replaces the toner himself and is informed first in the event of faults. He is the interface between the municipal administration and Topcart. This enables him to maintain an overview at all times and resolve minor faults himself.

“Topcart gives us the advantage that we no longer have to purchase devices. If a repair is no longer economical, we receive a replacement device free of charge. We can usually resolve minor faults ourselves, such as a paper jam. For more complex issues, we simply call Topcart, and a qualified technician is on site the next day to take care of the device.”
Today, the Rödermark municipal administration has between 60 and 65 desktop printers and multifunction devices at its two locations, all of which are managed by Topcart. Since Topcart takes care of device management, I no longer have any work to do in this area. In the event of a fault, I call our personal contact, and the problem is practically solved.
